Hello

Hi There! I'm Shannon Tierney Flack, a passionate photographer based in the Washington DC area, renowned for my unique blend of music and photography. As a trained violinist and vocalist, I seamlessly combined my love of music with my expertise in visual arts, specializing in concert photography.

I earned my BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography from James Madison University (JMU). During my time at JMU, I distinguished myself with my exceptional dedication, receiving the Senior Achievement Award for my outstanding work in photography.

My professional journey began as a photography intern at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, where I honed my skills in capturing the dynamic energy and emotion of live music performances. This experience laid the foundation for my career in music photography.

In pursuit of my passion, I founded my own publication, Shutter Up & Listen, which has become a respected platform for concert photography and music-related content. My work has been widely recognized and featured in esteemed publications such as The Washington Post and Consequence of Sound, among others.

With years of expertise in special event photography, I’ve had the privilege of photographing events for The White House Historical Association, Ariel Investments, and The Washington Ballet, among others.

With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the art of performance amd evens, I continue to capture the essence of live music and once ina  life time moments through my lens, creating visually compelling stories that resonate with audiences and artists alike.
